หมู่เกาะสุรินทร์, พังงา

ตั้งอยู่ตำบลเกาะพระทอง อำเภอคุระบุรี ครอบคลุมพื้นที่ทั้งสิ้นประมาณ 84,375 ไร่ หรือ 135 ตรกม. ประกอบด้วยเกาะ 5 เกาะ คือ เกาะสุรินทร์เหนือ เกาะสุรินทร์ใต้ เกาะรี เกาะไข่ และเกาะกลาง ประกาศเป็นเขตอุทยานฯ เมื่อวันที่ 9 กรกฎาคม 2524 เป็นหมู่เกาะที่ตั้งอยู่ในทะเลอันดามันและยังเป็นหมู่เกาะที่อยู่ติดกับเขตชายแดนไทย-พม่า ห่างจากชายฝั่งทะเลด้านตะวันตกของไทย มีแนวปะการังน้ำตื้นที่อุดมสมบูรณ์และสวยงาม เหมาะเป็นแหล่งดำน้ำตื้นดูปะการัง ช่วงเวลาที่เหมาะที่สุด คือ เดือน พฤศจิกายน - เมษายน อุทยานฯมีแหล่งท่องเที่ยวที่น่าสนใจดังนี้ 

เกาะสุรินทร์เหนือ และ เกาะสุรินทร์ใต้

ในเกาะนี้มีอ่าวทั้งหมด 10 กว่าแห่ง อ่าวที่มีชื่อเสียง คือ อ่าวแม่ยาย หรือแม่ใหญ่ เป็นอ่าวที่มีคลื่นลมสงบและมีขนาดใหญ่ที่สุด อ่าวลึก อยู่ทางตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ของเกาะสุรินทร์เหนือ มีน้ำลึกจนเป็นสีเขียวเข้ม มีปะการังน้ำตื้นที่สวยงามมาก นอกจากนี้ยังมีพวกสาหร่ายทะเลต่างๆ ดอกไม้ ทะเล กัลปังหาและฝูงปลาหลากชนิด 

อ่าวไม้งาม

อยู่ทางทิศตะวันตกของเกาะสุรินร์เหนือ ติดกับอ่าวที่ทำการ สามารถเดินเท้าผ่านเส้นทางศึกษาธรรมชาติหาดไม้งาม ระยะทาง 2 กม. หรือนั่งเรือหางยาว มีแหล่งน้ำจืดและชายหาดที่ยาวเหมาะสำหรับเล่นน้ำและชมปะการัง 

เกาะไข่ หรือเกาะตอริลลา อยู่ทางใต้ของเกาะสุรินทร์ใต้ ด้านทิศตะวันออกของเกาะมีแนวปะการังยาวเหยียดและสวยงามสมบูรณ์เหมาะแก่การดำน้ำตื้น

อ่าวจาก  อยู่ด้านทิศเหนือของเกาะสุรินทร์เหนือ มีแนวปะการังที่สวยงามสมบูรณ์มาก

อ่าวเต่า อยุ่ทางด้านทิศตะวันออกของเกาะสุรินทร์ใต้ มีเต่าทะเลอาศัยจำนวนมากบริเวณใกล้แนวปะการัง และมีแนวปะการังที่สวยงามมาก

อ่าวผักกาด อยู่ทางทิศใต้ของเกาะสุรินทร์ใต้ มีแนวปะการังที่ยังสมบูรณ์สวยงาม

อ่าวมังกรอยู่ทางทิศตะวันออกของเกาะกลางมีแนวปะการังที่สวยงามมีฝูงปลาใหญ่ๆ มากมาย

ชาวมอแกน

หมู่เกาะสุรินทร์มีชาวเลเผ่าสิงห์ ที่ยังดำรงชีวิตแบบดั้งเดิมกลุ่มสุดท้ายในประเทศไทยอาศัยกินอยู่หลับนอนในเรือบริเวณชายหาดสุรินทร์ใต้ ด้านตรงข้ามที่ทำการอุทยานฯ มีรูปแกะสลักด้วยท่อนไม้ คล้ายเทวรูปอินเดียนแดง ถือเป็นสถานที่ศักดิ์สิทธิ์ของชาวเล ในวันขึ้น 15 ค่ำ เดือน 3 ของทุกปี ชาวเลจะมาชุมนุมเพื่อไหว้ผีที่ตนเคารพนับถือ การชุมนุมนี้กินเวลา ทั้งสิ้น 3 วัน

การเดินทางไปอุทยานแห่งชาติหมู่เกาะสุรินทร์

จากท่าเรืออำเภอคุระบุรี จังหวัดพังงา มีเรือให้เช่าไปหมู่เกาะสุรินทร์ ระยะทาง 60 กม. ใช้เวลาเดินทางประมาณ 4 ชั่วโมง

จากท่าเรือทับละมุ อำเภอท้ายเหมือง จังหวัดพังงา ใช้เวลาในการเดินทางประมาณ 4 ชั่วโมง

จากจังหวัดระนอง สามารถเช่าเรือได้ที่ท่าเรืออำเภอกะเปอร์ ใช้เวลาเดินทาง 7 ชั่วโมง หรือติดต่อได้ที่ จันทร์สมแทรเวิล จังหวัดระนอง มีนำเที่ยวออกจากหาดชาญดำริไปยังหมู่เกาะสุรินทร์ โทร (077) 835317-9
